Zonta of the Year

Zonta of the Year has been selected since 2014.
Members can nominate an active member for the Zonta of the Year award each year.

  • This person is active in their Zonta club/region/district.
  • She has internalised the Zonta ideology and implements it in her own life.
  • She is a friendly, helpful, encouraging Zonta who fosters a positive atmosphere.
  • She is an inspiring example to other Zontians.
  • She has communicated Zonta’s activities to outsiders.
  • She has brought new members into Zonta activities.
  • She embodies the ‘Zonta spirit’.

Zonta of the Year 2024 is Tiina Rebane from the Tartu club

Tiina Rebane has been a member of Zonta International since 1991. She is a founding member of the Tartu Zonta Club and acts as the best representative of the Zonta spirit in both everyday life and active Zonta organisation activities. She has been actively involved in all of the club’s activities from the very beginning, communicates Zonta’s ideas more widely at Zonta events, and is always helpful, encouraging and knowledgeable.

Tiina Rebane has served as Tiina has actively participated in district meetings, European seminars and nine ZI conferences.

Tiina has actively participated in district conferences, European seminars and nine ZI conferences. At Tiina’s suggestion, Tartu launched an annual orange Zonta walk as part of the Zonta Says No campaign.

Tiina is wholeheartedly committed to Zonta activities, including donations, webinars and organising European seminars.

The Tartu club currently has 24 members, 12 of whom joined at Tiina’s invitation. Rebane has made a significant contribution to keeping Estonian Zonta clubs alive and active for 33 years. Her active work to promote the goals of the Zonta organisation deserves recognition. Rebane is the first Zonta of the Year from Region 6.
